How to Remove the Camera Shutter Sound on an iPhone
-Removing the camera sound -Requires changing a file name.
Whatever your reasons
are for wanting to get rid of the camera shutter sound on your iPhone,
it's possible to disable it fairly easily. Since the sound has nothing
to do with the photo being taken, you can simply rename the sound effect
that's associated with it and still be able to take pictures like you
normally would.
Step 1Download IFILE for IOS from Cydia on your idevice. This app allows you to look through your
iPhone's system files with ease.
Step 2Click on the Finder icon from your main menu and then click "Ifile" at the next screen.
Step 3Type "/System/Library/Audio/UISounds" into the Finder search box.
Step 4Scroll to the file named “photoShutter.caf” and double-click on it.
Step 5Click on the file
name and rename it. The idea here is to rename the "photoShutter" file
to something else; when the iPhone then goes to access the file while
taking a picture, it's not there. Rename the file anything you want; for
ease, just add a "1" or a few letters before the ".caf" portion.
Step 6Press "Back" or "Done" to exit the IFile program.
